Aston Martin - comment
With a commitment to delivering its first EV by 2025, Aston Martin has agreed to work with Britishvolt on developing high-performance batteries. Aston Martin needs to risk share in the development of new technologies and this partnership is an extension of that philosophy. No details of the potential cost of this program have been given. Also, the battery program will complement, not replace the powertrain agreement with AMG Mercedes. The nature of electric-powered engines removes much of the benefits of developing an engine. However, power packs and the speed of recharging could still be a differentiator at the top end.
