WOLFGANG FELIX, FOUNDER

Wolfgang has 24 years of experience in high yield, leveraged loans, distressed debt, re structuring, and special situations investment management and research. Prior to founding Sarria, Wolfgang has been partner and senior portfolio manager of Wiltshire Capital, managing funds under the brands of Wiltshire and City Financial. 

Formerly Team Leader at CQS for European Distressed and Value Opportunities, and responsible for European special opportunities at Marathon Asset Management, he has consistently generated client profits and lead a series of successful cross-border restructurings and re-financings. Faced with a lack of opportunities, he liquidated most of his book in early 2008, preserving client capital.

Prior to 2005, Wolfgang was Vice President for the Deutsche Bank Distressed Products Group in London, Europe’s largest distressed desk in the last cycle, and associate at Alvarez & Marsal, where early on he had specialised as interims manager in corporate restructuring and hands-on operational turnaround. 

He began his career at KPMG in Germany. Wolfgang is a German national, speaks German, English, French, Spanish and Portuguese, holds a BA (hons) from EBS London and an MBA from the University of Chicago.


MARTHA CHAGAS FELIX, FOUNDER

Martha combines 23 years of experience in design, operations and trade. With her deep understanding of social media, as well as her managerial experience, Martha is responsible for all operations, resource planing, PR, visual content and web design. She is also overseeing matters in relation to finance and accounting. 

Prior to Sarria, Martha has been a successful blogger, catering to lifestyle tourists visiting London. Prior to that, from 2003 to 2008, she was key account manager for a leading international shoe supplier, covering and representing the interests of the largest high-street shoe retailers in the UK and also in Europe.

Martha began her career in the 90’s in Brazil as architect, but soon turned entrepreneur, when she co-founded an innovative company, making interior design available to a wider audience.  

Martha is a Brazilian national and speaks Portuguese, Spanish and English. She has a University degree in Architecture and Urban Planning from UFRGS and an MBA from IESE Business School in Barcelona.


TOMÁS MANNION, SENIOR INVESTMENT ANALYST

Tomás has more than twenty years experience in the European leveraged credit and high yield capital markets, with a particular focus on distressed and special situations investments.  He has worked in both buy-side and sell-side roles within the credit market, most recently at Guggenheim Securities brokerage desk. 

Other notable experience includes 6 years at Centaurus Capital, an European event driven fund, focused on credit investing.  Tomas started his career at Barclays Capital Asset Management - BCAM - investing on behalf of Barclays Capital in stressed and distressed European situations.  He has experience of several restructurings and has held board observation rights on a couple of UK Companies post restructuring. 

Tomás holds a BBS in Economics and Mathematics from University of Limerick. 


AENGUS McMAHON, SENIOR INVESTMENT ANALYST

Aengus is a research professional with over 25 years-experience in the European high-yield capital market. He has worked in both buy and sell side roles within the credit market and was most recently head of developed markets corporate research at ING.

Additionally, Aengus worked in high-yield at ANTS, Janus Henderson, Insight Investment and in proprietary trading at UBS. He also worked at Calyon as a desk analyst before joining ING. He started his career in finance in the structured finance division of Hambros Bank (later SG Hambros). For over 10 years, Aengus was on the board of the European High Yield Forum of AFME, concentrating on investor advocacy.

Aengus holds a BA in Financial Services from London Guildhall University


MALIKA VARSANI, COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR

Malika has over 15 years’ experience in Leveraged Finance and Special Situations. As a founding member of CapitalStructure she regularly contributed to their market-leading proprietary news and worked her way up to European Bureau Chief of Fulcrum Financial Data, now a Fitch Solutions business.

In that role, she was involved in business strategy & development, operations management and system development. She remained heavily involved in editorial both producing content and providing leadership alongside driving commercial initiatives and coordinating a series of market-leading events.

Prior to this, she was a reporter at Debtwire covering special situations and prior to that Mergermarket (now ION).


SAAHIL DEY, SENIOR INVESTMENT ANALYST

Saahil has over 17 years of investment banking, debt & restructuring advisory and principal investing experience at global investment banks and advisory firms, most recently as the European Special Situations Trader & Desk Analyst at TD Cowen (a subsidiary of Toronto Dominion).

Other notable experience included 5 years in the Loans & Distressed Trading Group at BNP Paribus as a senior desk analyst with a focus on proprietary positioning in the energy, industrials and emerging markets.

 Saahil also has extensive experience in private credit and restructuring as an advisor at STJ Advisors, Exotix Partners and as a partner at European Special Situations Advisors.

Prior to 2008 - Saahil was an investment banker with a focus on leveraged finance at UBS and credit solutions at Deutsche Bank in London.

 Saahil graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance from McGill University in Canada


STEPHEN PHILLIPS, SENIOR ADVISOR

Stephen Phillips, is a solicitor with over 20 years of advising on restructuring high yield bonds. 

We have formed a close association with Stephen who is a founder in the boutique firm FreiLibertas specialising in advising distressed funds execute investment strategies.

Trained at Linklaters he advised on restructurings in Asia during the currency crisis.  Returning to London he spent the early 2000s at Cadwalder working on European High Yield Bond restructurings.  He became a partner at White & Case in 2007, and more recently was head of European Restructuring at Orrick.
