Sarria: we are expanding, new hires
Dear All,
As we embark on our exciting next growth phase we would like to announce two new hires. The growth is in line with our plans to expand coverage to 100 names.
Sarria strengthens its analyst team with the hire of Edward Lewisohn. Ed will assist in expanding our coverage, which will capture more names from higher up the quality curve and the bottom end of HY generally.
The team will continue to produce in the special situations and distressed space, but will increasingly add names that are merely stressed, or offer other opportunities. While across the spectrum our core DNA will remain the fundamental bottom-up single-name analysis, we are open to suggestions as to what else you may want to see.
Ed has over 6 years experience in investment management and research across the capital structure, including high yield, distressed and special situations investing and was most recently an independent research analyst.
Prior to this Ed worked in various analyst roles at Antler Capital, Melqart Asset Management and Avenue Capital, having begun his career as an analyst within the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs.
Ed holds a BA in Economics and Business from University College London
Meanwhile, we also invite you in welcoming Malika Varsani who joined us in late November as Commercial Director to help reinforce our commercial efforts and business development opportunities.
On the one hand, expanding coverage means that we must grow the team in areas that will allow analysts to stay focused on their output and on the other, it offers new opportunities to look across the names and identify opportunities between them. Overall, therefore, we have plenty of developments ahead of us and Malika will help us deliver these.
Malika has over 15 years’ experience in Leveraged Finance and Special Situations. As a founding member of CapitalStructure, she regularly contributed to their market-leading proprietary news and worked her way up to European Bureau Chief of Fulcrum Financial Data, now a Fitch Solutions business.
In that role, she was involved in business strategy & development, operations management and system development. She remained heavily involved in editorial, producing content and providing leadership, driving commercial initiatives, and coordinating a series of market-leading events.
Prior to this, she was a reporter at Debtwire covering special situations and prior to that Mergermarket (now ION).
